Calligraphy Qalam: An Introduction to Arabic, Persian and Ottoman Calligraphy uses interactive tools to interest new audiences in the traditional art forms of Arabic, Ottoman and Persian calligraphy.

The illumination of the opening spread is in the Timurid Herati style of the late 15th century. The top and bottom darker headings are in the muhaqqaq script, and the middle darker heading is in the thuluth script.
