Calligraphy Qalam: An Introduction to Arabic, Persian and Ottoman Calligraphy uses interactive tools to interest new audiences in the traditional art forms of Arabic, Ottoman and Persian calligraphy.

This calligraphic fragment includes verses 14-27 of the 27th chapter of the Koran entitled surah al-Naml (the Ants). It is a Meccan surah, and these particular verses describe King Solomon's powers as well as his encounter with the Queen of Sheba.
